As of 1800hrs today, all declared Ports will be closed due to Tropical Cyclone Gita’s expected/forecasted entrance into Fiji waters tonight through Southern Lau.

All vessels were advised yesterday to proceed to anchorage and to seek safe haven at allocated positions.

Vessels owners/operators have also been advised advised to abide by precautionary procedures. Another update on the status of our Ports will be made tomorrow morning.

As for our subsidiary company Fiji Ships and Heavy Industries Limited, vessels on the dry dock have been de-slipped  (returned to sea) and owners have been advised to move their respective vessels to a safer place away from the slip way premises.
