Another successful Port Security- Ship Security exercise was facilitated by FPCL Security Department on September 21^st on board the gigantic cruise liner Majestic Princess.

And this is leading up to the major exercise planned towards the end of the year as per International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) require­ment.

The table top exercise was requested by Princess Cruises and the Australian High Commission to test their ships security set-up and also test the response by the receiv­ing port authority on certain scenarios as per ISPS code.

The objectives of the exercise were to test the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) by Port State; Deployment and interoper­ability of local authorities to assist; and evacuation plan by port state.

Key stake­holders invited by FPCL security include the Ministry of Defense, Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji, Republic of Fiji Mili­tary Forces, Fiji Inland Revenue Customs, Fiji Navy, Fiji Police Force, National Fire Authority and Ministry of Health

The exercise was successfully carried out with the command elements of the Majestic Princess satisfied with the combined response strategy presented by the team present.
