Fiji Ports Corporation Limited and its subsidiary company, Fiji Ships and Heavy Industries Limited joined the rest of their stakeholders in the maritime industry in celebrating the World Maritime Day at Sukuna Park on September 27.

This year, the World Maritime Day theme was “Our Heritage – Better Shipping for a Better Future”.

It also marked the 70^th anniversary since the Convention establishing the International Maritime Organisation was adopted.

The theme for this year provides the opportunity to take stock and look back, but also to look forward, addressing current and future challenges for maritime transport to maintain a continued and strengthened contribution towards sustainable growth for all.

FPCL and FSHIL made use of the opportunity to raise awareness on the services provided to the general public and also shared the career opportunities available with the students visiting the booth.
