The audit for ISO 9001: 2015 certification has already been undertaken for Fiji Ships and Heavy Industries Limited.

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) audit was carried out this week by Mr Gamini Weerasinghe and Mrs Mala Thennakoon who are from the Sri Lanka Standards Institution.

FSHIL has already received ISO 9001: 2008 accreditation in 2016 and last year, it completed the steps to qualify for ISO 9001:2016 certification.

ISO 9001:2015 sets out the criteria for a quality management system. It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity.

This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.
