Fiji Ships and Heavy Industry Limited (FSHIL) is exceptionally proud to announce that it has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification.
This prestigious certification — the latest iteration of the world’s leading quality assurance standard, ISO 9001 — is granted for meeting or exceeding rigorous international standards in quality management.
This is for the provision of services related to ship repair works, ship repair services, slipway facilities and heavy industry services.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification and audit process was conducted by Sri Lanka Standard Institution in February this year.
“To earn the coveted certification, FSHIL had to ensure that the QM system in place was in complete compliance with the newly updated 2015 standards. Evaluation criteria include a strong customer focus, the motivation and involvement of top management, a focus on internal processes, and continual improvement,” FSHIL Operations Manager, Lopeti Radravu said.
He said to FSHIL clients, ISO 9001 certification speaks highly of a company as ambitious, reliable, and motivated with high quality products.
According to Mr Radravu, taking the final step and choosing to go through the ISO certification procedure confirms that FSHIL’s quality assurance maintains the highest standards.
“It is a promise to our customers that we will work unceasingly to become better,” he added.
FSHIL is the subsidiary company of Fiji Ports Corporation Limited (FPCL).
FPCL chief executive officer Vajira Piyasena has congratulated FSHIL for the milestone achievement.
“The board of directors and management of FPCL, being the parent company of FSHIL, are proud of this milestone achievement which speaks volume of the hard work and tireless effort being put together by the team at FSHIL,” Mr Piyasena said.
