Fiji Ships and Heavy Industries Limited’s fibreglass boat displayed at the World Maritime Day celebrations was the centre of attraction at the annual event held at Sukuna Park on September 27.
Operations Manager Lopeti Radravu used the opportunity to create awareness on their product which is now labelled as the “unsinkable boat” by the media.
Assistant Minister for Transport, Mr Vijay Nath, and Government heads, International Maritime Organisation representatives, various representatives from the Pacific Region who were there as part of the delegation from the Pacific Community (SPC) and members of the public took time out to learn more about the product.
FSHIL is looking at expanding its market in to the Pacific region.
However, Mr Radravu said they were also mindful of the demand they would receive once they tap into the regional market.
FSHIL boasts about the reliability of its products built to standard requirements of Maritime Aids to Navigation Regulation 2014.
Mr Radravu assured the listeners on the day that FSHIL ensures that the standards of fibre glass boats are not compromised guaranteeing safety to the travelling public.
